Communicated with employer via indeed messaging/those hidden email addresses that get delivered right to your inbox. I will add this job is my top choice.
Employer got back to me late, explained they had a personal emergency (delivered their baby early) and would like to see me for an interview. I responded back immediately (2 hours later) with available times.
Employer contacted me 24 hours later saying they had not heard from me - would I be available at any of these time slots this week? The time slots are tomorrow afternoon and the following day afternoon. They seemed urgent, and insinuated they wanted to make a decision by the weekend, but said if this is too short notice they will meet with me early next week. This was last night.
I responded immediately (within an hour), both directly to the indeed email address and again with the same message in the indeed internal app. I found the undistorted version of their email was shown back in our remain thread so I sent another separate email directly to that email. No response.
The next morning (today) I went to the company website (small company of 3 people) and since there is no phone number I sent an email within the online Contact Us form explaining the situation and confirming my availability. No response. Also no receipt of this message in my personal outbox because I did it in the web browser.
.... no response and the window is closing in a couple of days. Went back on indeed and the job listing was just taken down, or maybe expired??
I just purchased a trial of a paid email app where I can request message delivery tracking and request a read receipt. My last option now is to send an email through this paid app and see if it gets delivered. I’m worried I’m somehow being sent to spam, although our communication via the same methods was perfectly fine last week.
The only other things left to do it seems are invasive: I can contact the partner at this company who I’ve never made contact with by phone, I can contact someone who works under them at the company by phone but this seems highly inappropriate. They are individual phone numbers listed online.
I could have a friend call to check if the one listed for the partner is a general company phone number, even though it’s not listed on the main website. I could send a DM to the businesses Instagram page, but my recruiter friend suggested not to do that.
I have no idea how to proceed. I don’t want to lose this one. I figured at first maybe she missed my first indeed response because having a baby is naturally disorienting? But that doesn’t explain the lack of response since.
The indeed messages show up in the browser and on the app when I refresh - they seemed like they were delivered. No emails bouncing back either.
TLDR - While highly unlikely, it seems my top choice employer isn’t getting my messages on Indeed and there aren’t other obvious ways of contacting them. What happens when you can’t get in touch with an interested employer? Do you give up? How far do you take things?
