Three and a half years after last FT, salaried job and one-year after leaving freelance roles, I finally got an offer

This is an alt account and I haven't made any big announcement and have only told a couple of folks, but after three years worth of interviews, flaky recruiters, and countless rejections, I finally got an offer for a role I'm excited about at a salary I'm comfortable with.

I lost my last FT, salaried job in October 2017 but was fortunate enough to have a bunch of freelance work fall into my lap and sustain me for the next two years.

Around this time last year, I made the mistake of quitting all freelance work and was set on selling my house and just traveling full-time. Since then, I have struggled to pay my bills, took an awful low-wage labor job which paid me just enough to cause me to miss out on the bolstered CARES Act unemployment deal last spring/summer.

Beyond going $20,000 in debt getting by last year, I've struggled with my mental health in this last year and have had periods of absolute despair and hopelessness. Just about a year ago, I was rejected for a job I was so sure I was going to get an offer for and was absolutely devastated and depressed for weeks. I'm glad I kept pushing on.

If you've been out of work for a while and struggling, keep on trying... It seems like hiring is picking back up. Avoid the places that look for reasons to exclude you and go where you're wanted and with companies that see value in your experience and skill set.
