Sounds like I should move out of State, but that costs money and I'd need employment.

I am in a Red State where I am honestly not accepted.

I'm from NY originally and never married and moved South. I have no family. I am middle age.

Not everyone has relatives. My highschool classmates are married and live all over.

I have faced discrimination at work because I am older and have some correctable health issues.

I'm not slow, unskilled or lacking knowledge. I have quite a bit, having worked in different career fields and completing graduate education

I filed a suit in court against my recent employer for wrongful and retaliatory termination.

So if I apply anywhere, I'm turned down immediately.

I need a certain income to live. That is something most dont discuss here.

An admin asst from an out of State Co encouraged me to apply to work for their company that is expanding right where I am, in this State.

She's a well meaning person. She was a mother and housewife who never went to college or had an outside career.

I didnt become a wife or mother. But in my generation it was unacceptable to stay single and childfree.

She means well. I know she wants me to apply. I read the job description. It says one year of management experience.

I get deselected from jobs because of my Covid job gap.

HR can say any reason, no recent management experience (i was an individual contributor and managed many years ago)

This job requires building relationships with local employers.

I am not from here originally. I have no problem initiating contacts and making calls.

I honestly dont think I will be selected and I'm not being negative, just realistic.

The job pays my minimum needs which is fine.

But this State area, is close knit, and hires locals.

I'm on UI and its running out.

Hypothetically what IF they said, "we've selected someone else for ABC role, but we have this other job XYZ ($12,000 less)...

I wouldn't be able to pay housing costs on XYZ
