My job makes in mandatory for us to come in. I’m worried about covid exposure

My job has been having us come to work in-person, and unfortunately it isn’t optional. It’s definitely not an essential business and it’s in an urban area. I’ve been commuting from outside of the city and live with older family members. I’m stressed about this situation, especially with the new variants, but don’t have the financial means to move out.

A lot of coworkers are upset by the in-person thing but there aren’t any changes. An old-fashioned higher-up wants to be in-person, so we are. Anyone in the same situation? Anything you’d suggest to WFH? I’m new to this workplace—very new— and don’t know who to talk to.
