Second interview with a state government agency was on 1/15. I thought it went well. After, hiring manager (HM) said it usually takes about 2 weeks for a background and reference check. Emailed HM at 3 weeks asking if a decision has been made/any updates. No response for the first time ever. Another week went by. Should I try the HR contact listed on the job announcement? Or leave it alone? My job application status went from In Progress. To Interviewed. To In Progress last week. ?
