I’m making a career change at 41 and need a realistic answer about compensation.

I wasn’t planning on a pandemic when I started Grad School in 2019. I won’t graduate until December 2021, but since my program is online I’m always on the lookout.
I’m getting my Master’s in Health Informatics. I have a background in healthcare, but very little in data (something in healthcare data is what I’d love to do).

I live in Chicago in a studio and make between 60-65k. I know I’ll be taking a pay cut, but I REALLY want to keep my apartment, which is at $1,2050. I’ve been living here almost 7 years and have had NO issues with neighbors, bugs, or rodents. I can’t bear to leave! It’s really the one nice thing I have. I don’t even own a car.

What do you think I should expect for entry level compensation? I’ve been seeing a lot of 40-45k and I’m not sure I can live on that. Definitely not with this apartment. Thanks for your help!
