i have searched past reddit posts and i see very mixed messages. some say A+ is so basic its almost useless, others say its required by HR.
my background: i am over 25 now. went to a liberal arts school that didn't have business or IT -_-. got a B.A. (ran out of cash had to graduate fast) my only computer experience is casual PC gaming since 9th grade, and upgrading my pc every year. and maybe some light powershell and playing with virtualbox. i been a windows fan since like 2006 or so. so i guess not new but i never did anything related to work.
my end goal: i am over 25, and i just want some stability. i went an entry level IT job for now. unsure what IT track i will take after helpdesk, i honestly just want to most stable and high paying, i spent the last 10 years over thinking everything. i just want to start now.
also: what is the general thought on certs ? again many say most are kinda useless, others live and die by them. which are good, which to avoid ? (to start in IT) i am low on cash and if i can avoid spending hundreds on certs, i would be happy
