I just started working as a freelance writer a new platform. I am not paid but I heard my coworkers are. I think this is unfair.

I am a 23 year-old student. Last month I started working as a writer for an online platform. I started this so I can get published and get some kind of online work experience. My family supports me but i hoped i was getting paid. When I start the job i asked my supervisor if i was going to be paid. He said that we were doing this volunteering and we do not get paid.

However, today at a meeting same person says that he's getting paid quite a somme and another person who just started like me is also getting paid. With frustration i said "are you guys getting paid" like that meme. They all just laughed and moved on. I am really disappointed and don't know what to do. I really love this job, I don't want to lose it. but I don't want to work with people who exploit me. I cannot talk about this to my family or my SO because they will tell me to quit.
