I am writing this question on behalf of my husband who was recently released from a communications dispatcher position (911 operator) due to not passing the training. They said it wasn't for cause and he was still eligible for rehire within the organization. Government applications ask you for the reason for leaving and many ask if you were fired. How can he explain this in the most positive light? I am worried that an employer will view it negatively. Obviously he would never write this, but in my opinion, it was just a terrible training program because out of 7 new hires, only 2 are still in the training program.
Previously he worked security for a large government organization and I think his skill is helping people in a more direct capacity.
