I recently got a job at a decently sized company. Around 1 mill in revenue per day. Operations in several country's. Starting pay is surprisingly high (50k), I work in accounting.
The HR person told me I'd be salaried only to find out I'm hourly. I was missing many reports and tasks needed to perform the basics of the job, meaning there was zero prep done to my pc when I first started. Training was laughable. We have invoices that are 3+ months old that can't be paid because purchasing and receiving is also a circus. I ask my supervisor questions and she forgets, after the 3rd time asking in just kind of done.
Today I got an email stating I should focus on entering invoices and that I have been away from my desk and did enter any invoices on a specific day. While its true I barely give any shits I find it comical how that comment is being made when every facet of the company runs like shit, in addition that specific day I spent around 4 hours hunting down payment info for a vendor inquiring about several past due invoices, because the system is so bad something that should be simple takes twice as long to find. I've also spent time trying to fix vendors that are on wrong payment groups which leaves no trail, where as entering invoices does show a record. So fuck it ill just enter invoices all day, guess just gotta play for the stats instead of trying to fix broken parts of the system. Anyone in a situation like this?
