I work at a ski resort and we just started our busy season. The department where I work we are slightly understaffed and can barely keep up on busier days. Despite this my boss acts like she wants to fire people.
Two things that happened two which I consider red flags:
Because of covid info is changing all the time and departments have poor communication as is. I was talking to a guest on the phone and my boss was listenting in, which I noticed when she yelled across the office at me to correct me. Uhh you can correct me, but does it have to be while I’m on the phone and do you have to scream? I put the guest on holdand explained another department, which this info concerns, told me otherwise about what she corrected. She stood firm.
The other instance was when she reprimanded me in front of two other coworkers about a mistake I don’t remember and don’t believe I made. She said I won’t write you up this time but next time I will. After she left I said to me coworker, “was it necessary to do that in front of other people and not in private??” She said i know.
I told my mom about this and she was pissed. Am I right to be pissed about this behavior? She’s been increasingly aggressive and I think these two instances she acted out inappropriately. I’ve been bullied, harassed, and gotten in trouble at jobs before but management at least had the decency to make it private.
