I’m planning to contact someone who works at a medical school for internship opportunities. Should I mention their research in my email to them?
I have a connection to this person through a family member and they have a distinguished position within a prominent medical school. As someone with little work experience, especially in the medical field (sophomore Biotech major), I know that there’s not a lot I have to offer him. My thought is that I could read some research papers he’s written and mention it in my email to show that I’m interested and motivated, but I’m worried that it would come off as a bit pompous. Any ideas?
