Did I screw up for when I negotiate my salary?

So I applied for a different job within my company and one of the questions was my desired salary range. It said to not type negotiable so I put 53-$54,000. However I talked to someone who recently left that position and he told me he was offered $57,000 with no experience. I have one year so I honestly think I could get $60,000 now knowing this but I think I screwed myself over. I don’t know if they’d work with me. What do you guys think? Did I screw up? To clarify I haven’t negotiated yet but I did get the job.
