Hi! I am in the process of reference check, I just wanted to know what my chances are and where I stand (of course it can by different case by case but just generally)
I did a phone interview which was followed by Zoom interview (which would have been in-person interview) couple days after. I still wore standard professional interview outfit but the interviewer had problem with her Zoom, so we ended up doing another phone interview which lasted about 25 minutes. She asked me to elaborate my projects I listed on my resume, then after, she went over day-to-day tasks, company benefits, what kind of people are currently working (university grads prepping for masters and phd), company culture, etc. I sent the follow up email about 30 mins after the interview, which she responded pretty much right away.
After that, the HR asked me for references which I provided the Monday after (the phone interview 2 was on Wednesday). I was asking around previous employers and professors if putting them as a reference was ok with them, and then sent in the references on Monday.
I gave about a week and sent a follow up email on Monday on my references. The HR said they are still in the process, so I checked with my references if they have gotten the calls from the company. while the other references responded right away, there was one reference who did not get back to them. He answered the day after I sent the follow up email, which is 8 days after I sent in the reference.
So fast forward I gave another anxious week of waiting and today is Friday, which is 3 days after my last reference responded to them.
I am afraid I am following up too many times. Ive been sending thank you emails after every interview and checking in email before zoom call etc etc.... I do not want to seem like a paranoid or obsessive but still I really want to know where I stand and what my chances are at this point. After the reference check, there should be interview with the head of the company and then I will know if I am hired or not.
So my questions are: 1. In your opinion & previous personal experiences, what do you think my chances are? 2. How many more days should I wait & should I send any more follow up emails?
