Throw away account. Hey everybody! I’m coming to you all for entry-level job advice.
I am currently in the final stages with two companies, but I’m conflicted which path to take. I’ve only received an offer from Company A and am waiting for Company B so there might not be a need for advice, but anyways.
Company A: In a favorable industry that I could see myself going down long term. The job I would be doing isn’t a route I could really see myself going down into the future, the team is small (which I’m not the biggest fan of), and the interview sessions were kind of messy. I’m not really sure what growth path is in store. The location is not as desirable but not bad. I am indifferent about how they described company culture. The team culture I honestly don’t know much of. The kicker of this company is they offered me a very high starting salary and great benefits. I have to make a decision by early next week
Company B: The brand recognition is bigger for this company (pretty well known) They are one of the top companies in their industry, however, this industry isn’t something I’d see myself long term in. The role would be something I’d see myself going down long term and something I’d enjoy. The team is great and I enjoyed every interview I had with them. Growth opportunities are strong in this company. The location is great. The company culture really stood out to me and the team culture seemed great. The main thing is I’m expecting a lower starting salary (almost 12-30k lower, I’d be surprised if they matched). However, benefits are great as well.
My questions are: * Of the two I described, which sounds like the better option? * How would I go about negotiating salary with Company B? Telling them the salary I received from Company A?

P.S. I feel very fortunate to be in the position I am in, given the circumstances. To everyone who’s struggling rn, it took me 9 months to get to this point so I hear you all and understand you.
