Applied on first day of posting, I’m well qualified in the field. Employer reached out 36 hours later to schedule virtual interview. References were submitted with resume upon application, as requested.
Interview went very well (in my opinion). They referenced a special interest in my resume. I check all the boxes for the role.
I was told there would be a second round of interviews and I would hear if I was selected by the end of the week (tomorrow).
I find out that yesterday all of my references were contacted via email. All references replied and said response was confirmed as received by employer.
So, is this common to check references prior to a second interview? Could they make an offer without another round of interviews?
24 hours since references were contacted and I haven’t heard anything, yet.
I don’t want to get my hopes up, but thoughts?
