I'm 19 and i have a bachelor degree in graphic design, and now i'm currently studying UX/UI. I'm enjoying this field, but i feel like deep down in my heart, that i want to be independent, do my own stuff. I really, really like to illustrate, draw, but it's hard to make money with that (and there are no stable jobs like that.)
My dream job would be drawing my own comic, illustrating albums, posters, making stickers, designing t-shirts, etc.. And social media in general interest me (what can i say, i'm a gen z). Basically, i'm a dreamer type, i live in my own world. I have one year to think about what i really want to do, but i feel lost. I like graphic design, but i feel like it's not for me. My teachers told me, i'm good at it, i should have applied to universities (the only problem is that, it's hard to get in), but i don't feel that "passion" for it. But with art, drawing, comic's, illustrations i feel more like myself, i have the passion for it. I even did a couple of commission's and enjoyed it! I feel like i'm only doing graphic design, because that's the only stable paying job.
What should i do..? Should i apply to jobs besides my school, or should i rest for a year and have a "last" year doing art freerly? I'm just scared that i'm wasting my time.
