Wondering if anyone has faced this situation before, how it went ultimately, and what my options are (besides the obvious which is get another job). My biggest concern is that my manager would take another person’s word over mine based on proven falsehoods.
My manager just put me on a PIP based on a list of specific shortcomings brought forward from one colleague from a different department (that’s directly client facing; my role with clients is more backend but we still interact). These complaints were supposedly from our company’s clients. I submitted a rebuttal to each complaint with documented proof that I didn’t do any of these things. We’re talking emails and time stamps and our system also logs everything. I really think the complaining colleague is just a misogynist who’s angry at me for calling him out on some of the mansplaining he’s done, but that’s another issue for another day. I’ve also brought this to my managers attention, though. Anyway.
Well, basically HR and my manager both completely dismissed everything I submitted. Anytime I circled back to the documentation I submitted, it was shot down with “well that can’t be proven” (???? But I did??). It was as if they didn’t read a thing I wrote.
I figure this is some ploy to try to get me to leave, but is there anything I can do? Should I talk to the head of the complaining department about the colleague who’s basically lying? Should I talk to my boss’s boss?? This is just so wildly unfair that I don’t think should just be left alone.
Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.
