I'm a 20 year old living in a small city. I took a break from college because I got covid and the resulting anxiety meant I just couldn't handle everything that I had to do, and my new plan is to move back to my home country once I save enough money. I live with my parents, and my dad has been very angry with me for not getting a job, despite the fact that I've been looking since July. I've been rejected from all of the "entry level" positions in my field (automotive) due to a lack of experience, as well as every other job I've applied for. Why does an entry level job need 3 years experience? Even the grocery stores have either outright said no or haven't responded in months, so my hope is dwindling. My friends have also had the same problem, but my dad doesn't seem to care and thinks it's all my fault. Are there just not enough positions open because of covid? Eveyone I ask says my resumé is good, and I had a job at a daycare before so it's not like I am completely fresh. Anyone else having similar issues or have any tips to help me stand out compared to other applicants?
