For background, I'm currently far along into the interview process with a company near the Northeast. I'd forgotten I'd applied to the position until the end of last month when I received an email from a recruiter asking me to send in a writing sample. I sent it in, and they invited me for a phone interview. It went very well, and the next day, I was asked to complete a background check via a commonly-used third-party service. The recruiter told they'll be in contact with me once the background check clears.
The background check cleared late Thursday afternoon, around the time they closed, but I didn't hear back on Friday. I'm well aware I'm being impatient at the moment, though it's entirely from nerves. Am I right to assume that I'm likely being considered for the position if they're requesting a background check? If so, should I expect a few days wait before potentially continuing into the next step?
