So I got my first real job post-schooling in August. I was really excited for it, but it is not what I thought it would be. My position is not what the job posting offered, and I think I just sort of fell into some weird role. I'm doing purely administrative, clerical work and somehow HR, when that isn't what I interviewed for. It's only been 2 months, and I'm starting to lose my mind and really dread going everyday. Everyone tells me to just stick with it for a year and get the experience and then move on. But a year in a job that I hate feels like that's gonna take FOREVER. I like my co-workers.
But how do you handle this? I feel guilty for saying I want a job I can stay at long term to them. I truly want a place I can work at for a long time, but I don't think this is it.
