Question about unemployment in California

I’ve been working at a pretty shitty company for a few years now and I feel like I’ve overstayed my welcome. I need out but I am worried about moving on. If I find a new job and quit, and say the new job doesn’t work out, would I be able to collect unemployment?

I also applied for a internship to possibly get some IT experience. I know some of these are usually unpaid so I worry a new job and a internship won’t mesh well and I’ll have to stay at my correct job since it is more flexible.

I have the interview for the new job on Wednesday. It’s basically the same thing I’m doing now but a lot more pay. I have a phone interview for the internship Thursday. I’m stressing on both.
