Is this the latest iteration of an MLM or is it a legit good opportunity?

Almost half of the entry-level "Marketing" positions on ZipRecruiter are basically just setting up a tent somewhere and qualifying people for free lifeline phones. The payment structure is that each employee gets paid a fixed amount for the whole day, around $100, so it adds up to $10/hr or less if the employee works more hours. The longer the tenure on the job and the more commissions or qualifications, the more likely for a promotion. It is said the average applicant will have around a 55k salary annually. After the promotion, the "Account Managers" then manage the new employees and help them with their "pitches" and sophisticated "strategies." These companies then spam the ZipRecruiter site with different titles and locations, while in reality, it's all the same exact positions (camping in a tent and qualifying people for free phones) and with only one location.

Is this really an ethical way to do business?
