employment history Section CV

Hey everyone looking for some advice here. How does anyone fill out the information under work history section without creating huge blocks of text ?

I know your supposed to avoid those sections because recruiters don't like to do their job and read but, I find this so hard to do.

Under skills you can simply put, proficient in excel or understands fundamentals of accounting etc. and make it nice and short. Two lines max.

But, how do you go about talking about what you did at old jobs showing transferable skills and creating context of the job without creating massive amounts blocks of text ???
