For context, let’s just say the position is registered nurse. I interviewed and accepted a job offer at a good hospital (A) last week. My start date would be sept 14 which is in about 2 weeks. I electronically signed the offer letter and I have a few more things to sign before the end of this week. I just received a call today to come in for an interview this Friday for a hospital (B) I rotated at and I would say it’s the best hospital to work at in my area. I think I’m going to go through the interview and try my best to get the job. From people I’ve talked to, they’ve said that there are about 2 or 3 interviews total and I hope that they would offer me a position before that sept 14. Also, Hospital B pays $15more/hr than Hospital A.
I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a situation like this. What would happen if I start hospital A and then Hospital B wants to still interview me or even hire me? Should I ask for a later start date (not sure if this is a good idea, most likely the new start date would be in October)? I tried to carefully read everything I signed but does anyone know if I’m obligated to stay or anything like that after I signed that offer letter (California btw)? Also I know if I were to leave Hospital A for hospital B then I would most likely not be able to go back to hospital A. Any input is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
