A few simple questions about leaving my job (info in body post)

Hi, ill keep it short and sweet.

Im thinking of quitting my part time retail job to focus on my second year of college (uk). It was my first job and I’ve been there just short of a year (I started in October last year).

I was wondering 3 things:

1: How much of a notice period do I give?

2: Should I stick it out until the 1 year mark or are there no perks to going the extra few weeks?

3: How do I go about telling my management I want to quit (is it a letter or do i just talk to them)?

p.s sorry if this is common knowledge but I’m honestly stuck on what to do since google is telling me a whole manner of things.
