Not doing well at my current job right out of college. How should I market myself to other companies?

Hi all.

I have been at my current job for around 6 months. It is an entry level management job at a large retail chain in the north. I got this job because of a personal connection I have with someone in the company. The reason I looked for this job (after leaving the one I was in before) was because of some personal reasons that led me to get this job very quickly. I did not spend much time thinking if it was something I really wanted to do. Now, 6 months later I am at the point of exhaustion from my job. Every week there is something that makes me want to quit. And I am tired of the dispassion, the stress, long hours (55+), intolerable bosses, etc. At times, I enjoyed the work and found myself learning and growing in my skills, now, I feel like I know what to do to get better, but I have no opportunity to do so. And, the process are extremely inefficient and they lead me and my peers to work long days and long hours while my boss is able to leave and work whenever he wants. The workload is impossible to get done, I can’t do what I am hired to do, and I am ready to do something different.

The problem is that I have 0 background in the business field besides this job. I majored in humanities, and now I do not want to do anything with my major. I do know that I am interested in business and figuring out what I do enjoy doing. I realize now that a high-stress retail job is not for me, but I would like to stay in business.

So with all this, how do I best market myself to companies? I have a college degree, but only the skills I gained from this job and a few previous to help me along. I want to get into finance, sales, etc. What should I do to land a job?
