I had a job interview for a part time seasonal job yesterday. It went great, the manager said they were “highly interested in hiring me” and that I meet skills and qualifications that they have been looking for in the position. I am able to work weekends, which is something the manager expressed interest in, as well as having experience and being slightly older (the people that work there are high school students), in addition to having more free time than the kids that work there. They also said that my major of study is something that would be beneficial to their company. We went through my university schedule and wrote down times I could work as well as how much money I would be making per hour. The manager gave me their number and said they would contact me for when I can come in for training, but let me know that they already made the schedule for the next two weeks, so they would contact me to see where I can fit in. I know my interview was yesterday, and it was also the weekend so the store was packed, but I feel so anxious that I secretly won’t get the job or won’t hear back from them. I plan on calling at the end of the week just to check in but I’m just so anxious about it despite it being only yesterday and the schedule being finished, and being a small store with one manager. I talked to my friends about it and they all said it sounds like I should hear back from them, but I hear all these stories about how interviews went great, manager expressed great interest, and then they just completely ghosted them. Nobody is a crystal ball or anything so I’m sure I can’t do anything about it except wait, but I just need to rant I guess :/.
