Appropriate to ask potential employers for a decision by a certain date? Lease ends in less than a month.

So here's my situation. I'm currently employed and live in Texas, but have been planning to relocate out of state and have been applying for jobs and waiting for the right opportunity, so not in a rush to move unless I get a good position. My current apartment lease ends on 9/24, which I was planning move out of. A few weeks ago, I found a new apartment which I applied/got approved for, but did not sign the lease contract yet.

However, since then I applied for a job out-of-state, and have already had 2 interviews with them. They plan to schedule a 3rd interview but haven't heard back yet regarding when that will be. The manager seems very interested in me as a candidate based on our conversations and the fact that I got 2 interviews within a week or two of applying. So not wanting to jinx it, but I think I have a good shot and if offered the position, I would most likely take it.

Would it be appropriate to explain to the manager about my leasing situation and ask for a decision before my lease ends? I really don't want to sign the new lease contract and then be offered the job and have to relocate, I would be stuck with a 12-month lease that I'd either have to break early or scramble to find someone to take over the lease; nor would I want to give up the new apartment I had applied for in the event that I don't get this job and am left without an apartment. Any advice or someone with a similar experience? Obviously I don't want to make it seem like I'm pressuring them to make a decision, but at the same time I want to be transparent about my current situation. Appreciate it, thanks!
