So I was "fired" a few months back, have questions on how to speak to it.

Throw away account for personal reasons.

I was let go a few months ago and have gotten a few interviews with questions on what happened. I've basically led with "covid-related" reasons.

I'm now looking into a competitor and I'm sure they know that this company never really furloughed or laid off staff.

Would it be smart to say I was let go for job searching? I'm in an at will state and my company uses an automated system called theworknumber to release info about my time there.

Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. It has been a rough few months, but I'm hopeful
