Back in March I accepted a job with a private school in California, just before the pandemic hit. I live in a very remote area of New Hampshire. So the world ended, instruction went online and and I wrote to them at one point asking what would happen if instruction remained online in the fall, if I could work from NH until it was safe to relocate. HR said no. I think considering the huge uptick in cases, particularly in this area, and the county’s decision to close indoor businesses and make schools go online, as well as the mandatory mask orders all provide a situation where it is literally safer for me to stay here until that area’s rates of infection go down. What are my options here, should I reach out and try again to ask if I can work from NH until the rates go down or instruction is in person again? I can 100% teach on my computer from here. Thanks for any help.
