Is it only me that finds it annoying when people try to give you advice on job searches or telling you to do _ instead?

Like I appreciate the help but its really annoying when people try to give you crap advice.

Example 1: 2 of my best friends were trying to give me resume advice. I don't mind people giving me advice but some times it is to bad. They told me I need references.

Friends: You need references

Me: ok but most places do not let you provide any. Anytime they ask for one I give them. But it seems that practice has stopped.

Friends: That is why you put them in your resume or say "available upon request"

Me: oh no

Example 2

Dad: X company looks good or Have you tried Y job site

Me: Yes I have and no leads, I have not been doing nothing these past three months I have tried every company I can possibly think of.

I want to scream and say stop giving me advice that does nothing but I know better. Has anyone had this issue or something like it?
