I am applying for a job in public health. I have all skills except that I lack project management skills within the industry. I have also built, managed and sold a business in the retail and fashion industry. Can I use my business skills in my project management application?
Currently contracted and my manager said I lack project management skills and should apply for the lower position when they go permanent.
My resume only has my experience within public health which is project support roles.
I know I can apply and do a great job in the higher role, but clearly lack in project management skills within public health.
However I also built and developed a great business on a low budget. But the problem is, it has no link to clinicians or hospitals and purely fashion and retail.
Thoughts? I am thinking on capitalising on my 'transferrable skills'.
