Several months ago I was asked to step down as Tech Director, and my position was given to my co-worker because he had management experience, and a bachelors degree. I became a system admin. They asked me to resign at the end of my contract. Well, now my position is being eliminated, and I'm being asked to write a resignation letter. If I resign in writing, I will probably lose unemployment insurance. I wasn't aware of this when I was told to resign months ago. So, what are my options, and what should I do? If I don't resign, they will probably say I was fired right?
