I recently went job hunting through Indeed. One of the companies I applied too ( a small start up company creating a indie game) got back to me with an interview. However, I was only recently informed that they had no budget and won’t be able to pay me even though the job posting stated a $25/hr pay. They explained they had investors but the money was yet in there control, I would be paid once it was. This game has been in the works for 5 years and I’m getting a little worried because of the lack of progress with the budget. I don’t know if I should stay with this company or quit as soon as possible. I want the experiences as it’s my first concept art job but it feels suspicious. They have hired a lot of really talented artists which also make me question how they got those people on board with their $0 budget. Should I stay and hopefully they’ll get the budget?
Tl:dr: got a job offer that said they would pay $25 an hour but turns out they had $0 in budget. I love the job work but I don’t know if I should look for somewhere else.
