So, I applied to a company around March, after some interviews, an take-home challenge and a final 4-hours on site challenge but after that they told me I didn't get the job. So the thing is that a new position just opened, for the same profile as last time. I have the HM mail because I sent a thank you note and he even answered back, so I was thinking in contacting the HM directly by mail but I don't know what is the standard in this situations. I am assuming that by being in the final round we were at most 3 people left, and I was a really strong candidate. So in this situations is it ok to contact them and tell them I am interested and mentioning my new skills, certifications obtained since last time? Or would it look like I am cutting corners and try to skip the process by contact him? Am I supposed to go thru the whole process? I mean after 3 interviews and the two challenges and being one of the finalist I think they already know I am good fit for the position, and actually this is for a mid-senior position, a bit of an overkill but anyways. And I am not saying this should give the the position right away but maybe skips some steps in the process. For example in my current job, staff provides feedback to the HM about candidates and we ranked them, so we go with option 1 and in case option 1 does not accept we have the other options, and also if HR approves a another last time position we already have a pool of possible candidates from the ranking we made. So this is for entry staff so it is easier to select but I want to believe that it would be the same for this one.
