Am I missing out on future employment opportunities by being too frugal?

Am I missing out on life if I'm being too frugal?

Sometimes I wonder if maybe perhaps my spending habits are way too frugal. Maybe I'm saving too much. Perhaps I'm not spending enough money. Perhaps I'm saving for a rainy day that will never come.

If you think about it, this virus has me thinking about my priorities. Sometimes I think I'm glad I have a job and a paycheck, because the alternative could be me dead, or with a high tuition loan bill. And as we all know, money doesn't go to heaven with you when you die.

But really the thing that scares me the greatest is that perhaps I'm not living life to its fullest potential. To note, I've never been on a plane, to another state other then my own, on vacation, don't own a car or a home, and have no major financial large purchases under my belt. I also never been skydiving, swimming, to the beach, have had a girlfriend, been in a relationship, or ever celebrated a birthday. I also can't remember when I truly had fun, or went to the bar to celebrate a good time. Nor have I gone shopping at all in a while.

Am I screwing myself up for the future? For one thing, I know my credits shot. But on another note, I realize that sometimes when I'm doing things as the expense of my time for example, the people I meet while are good friends, probably aren't going to be too far in life. I used to be the kid that would go across town for cheaper groceries, or walk to a destination if I could afford it, up to an hours worth. But you hear these stories about individuals meeting people at the right place, at the right time. Maybe the blazer I worked so hard to afford could get me an introduction via a compliment. I mean the possibilities are endless when you truly think about it.

Who knows, I could be meeting a CEO of a fortune 500 company at Starbucks, as opposed to meeting no one making coffee at my home. Or making peanut butter sandwiches, instead of a five-star restaurant.

So what's the balance? How do I balance frugality, productivity, retirement, future, as well as living in the moment?
