Hi everyone,
2 month ago i applied for a different job (a promotion) with my current employer. The process has taken forever, it took 1 month for the first interview and almost 3 week for the second. It will be 2 weeks on Friday and I still don’t know if i made it to the third one.
One thing that rubbed me the wrong way at the beginning, was that the recruiter was a bit weird when she called to confirm my application. It was almost as if she wanted me to withdraw my application.
I think the first interview was phenomenal and the second while i felt it was great it was kinda short. The hiring manager has been quite encouraging during the process and even sent me an email after the second interview saying that he had enjoyed it and looked forward to connect soon. I am planning on following up this Friday and see where i stand. I know the COVID situation has made everything slower but ...2 months is a bit much?
I’ll also note that i’ve been doing the job already since i am “covering” while they hire someone. So the hiring manager has been my boss already for these last 2 months. My performance has been without reproach and even got several shoutouts from senior leadership.
In any case, i was wondering what you all take is on this and if you all have any advice on how to proceed.
