At the time of applying for WIOA I was 6 weeks unemployed, right now I am 11 weeks unemployed. As part of the pre-covid unemployed I am still obligated to search for employment and there are still some jobs around. When I had the initial conversations with my advisor it went good for the moment. Then the third round of sessions she got real pushy and not that helpful where it made me realize the program is not meant for me.
I understand it is going to be hard to immediately go to a job that you want right now, but I want to get in a situation where I can get into those jobs. Even before the virus, data entry jobs in my area had over 100+ applicants as demonstrated by indeed.com in their post application status reports.
I can expect that I may have to work part-time for time time being until the job market opens up for file clerk, data entry type positions.
The questions I have are:
a. Do you need more customer service experience beyond retail or food service customer service for customer service jobs at a call center or office to be viable to employers?
b. Do certificates from the local community college help in helping to snag employment in a job field you want to partake in?
