On Tuesday I called a manager for a job in retail that I applied to a week ago. She took my info and said she'd look at my app, and if my availability matches an opening she'd call back to schedule an interview for next week.
Well she called me back the same day, like 7 hours later. I missed the call, but she didn't leave a voicemail either, even though my voicemail has my name in it.
I returned the call 5 mins later and they said she left for the day and to try back tomorrow. I waited 24hrs to see if she'd call again, she didn't, so I called and she was busy but someone took my name and number. It's a big place so I'm hoping they actually passed my info to her so she knows I called but she didn't call me today either. I'm feeling anxious but I don't know if I should try to call again or not. If I should call back, is tomorrow ok or should I wait til next week Monday or Tuesday?
Is it likely she'll try to call me again or no since I missed the first call and she didn't leave a message?
I've never worked in retail or corporate before, which adds to my nerves because I don't know how these hiring processes work. In the sectors I have worked in before it is looked down upon to reach out to an employer about app status.
