Getting into the HR Field

I should graduate from my community college at the end of this year. I was hoping on transferring to WGU and doing the HR management program. I am curious, how many credits of a general studies degree will transfer when transfering to the HR program?

Also, would a degree from WGU look legit to companies I would apply to?I also plan on getting certifications.
