Accused of forgery, should I resign?

I'm a K-12 teacher with 4 years of experience.
My district admin is accusing me of having forged my ADA papers. They are seeking termination. I want to fight this, and have messaged my doctor to call and confirm. I'm also filing an EEOC complaint, and have reached out to my union.
However, I also want to resign. Would it look bad if I resigned? I want to make sure that I'm protected when I look for a job with another district.
