Stuck between a rock and a hard place: Admin job pays more, but other jobs pay less but are more focused on my interests?
Okay, I am currently working as a Digital Analyst in the UK (NHS). I am on a fixed term contract for a year, which will be dissapearing in October as the department itself is dissapearing. Up to now, all my work experience has been working within the healthcare sector in various areas which cover both the back-end and front-end. My career has led to me to working in digital transformation through different project officer/project support role. This has led me to being proficient in project coordination and management, as well as developing knowledge in T-SQL, Oracle, VBA, Python, C++, Jira, PowerPoint, Cerner Millenium and epic to name a few.
After sending a couple of applications, I have gone through had a phone interview as well as various invitations for face-to-face interviews, all of them still related to healthcare; for the sake of clarity I will call them jobs a, b and c:
A - A six month fixed contract working as an order comms development specialist for a hospital trust in the outskirts of London. The commute is 35 minutes by train and it pays 31000 pounds (39476 dollars for the US crowd). It is a relatively low paid job, but if successful in the interview and I get the job, it is a job that can really push my career forward
B - Working as a Project Coordinator for Cerner. Pay is 32000 pounds (41032 US dollars) however it would allow me to get experience outside the public sector and to explore growth within the private sector. Would involve agile working and up to 50/50 share between being in the office or elsewhere in the UK. This role is permanent.
C - Team Administrator for the Transformation team in an NHS Trust. It would involve administrative, payroll and EA duties. Pay is the best out of the three at 36,000 pounds or 46000 dollars per year. This role is permanent.
What are your thoughts r/jobs? Because of the money I am leaning more towards the Team Administrator role because of the pay, as we (me and my partner) could really do with the extra pay. However, working with Cerner would provide me more experience outside the NHS and the order comms one would be using the skills I have acquired so far through my work.
