Need outside opinions.

I took a job to become a locksmith for a door company 7 months ago. I was told that the locksmith position isn’t a full time gig and I’ll be helping mostly in the warehouse . In reality it’s almost no locksmith work and entirely warehouse work. Their goal is to get me into the sales team but they said that could take more than 3 years for me to learn everything . I do not enjoy the warehouse work and I do not want to wait 3 years. They want me to wait 3 more months to have the opportunity to even take locksmith classes . I’m confused as if I’m wasting my time and I should just learn somewhere else . If I were to wait 3 years the money would be well.
