I received an informal phone offer and then an emailed offer, with a "formal" offer to follow after the holiday (I know, I know).
The base compensation and perks are excellent for my location, but in my conversations with their in-house recruiter I was told the salary range is $50-$55k and they offered me $53k. I feel that I should push for $55k as I have 5 years of experience specific to this job that make me a very desirable candidate (they expressed as much in the interview).
I am hesitant to ask for more because when I was on the phone with their HR to review the benefits package I casually asked if there was any wiggle room on vacation days, and she went ahead and gave me an extra week of PTO when she sent over the unofficial offer. In hindsight I could see how this could seem like negotiating, but I was really just asking. Will I seem greedy if I ask for more money, too? I really want this job and I don't have any other comparable offers at this time, but I do think that my experience is worth the extra PTO and a slight bump of $2k a year.
