Basically, I interviewed for a talent acquisition and training analyst position. My credentials are heavy on the training side, where as the position is heavy the other way. Well initially I got an email after all the interviews saying I'm still under consideration and shed be able to connect on the next steps after the holidays.
I had a sense that I was probably their top candidate but wasnt sure.
Cue to now. I notice the job has reposted. Ouch. But maybe it was just auto renewal. Then toward the end of the day I get a call saying I'm still under consideration and that she wanted to ask about a different position.
During my interview process I had spoken with someone involved in training and development and I guess they are looking to expand that part of their department. She said I had strong skills for both and wanted to see if I would be interested in interviewing for a learning and development specialist position. (This position is not posted) she said it pays more as well.
I said yes and she setup the phone interview reiterating I'm still in consideration for the talent acquisition position and she would follow up after the interview.
My fear, being my pessimistic self, is that I'm number 2 for the first job and that I wont be quite what they're looking for for the other job.
Am I being dumb? Is this actually a best case scenario?
