I found a couple jobs in my area that I'm interested in. One is working with teens who have behavioral issues, mental illness, substance abuse, etc. The other is working with younger kids on the Autism spectrum. Both are things I've been considering getting into for a long time and neither requires a degree, but I still feel unqualified. All I've done since high school (I'm almost 25) is retail for a year and then food service. I know the job listings say a high school diploma is enough, but I feel like I won't be taken seriously, especially at the treatment center for teens. It's much closer to me, pays more, and would overall be a much better position, but I don't know how to get it. My resume has basically nothing on it. I feel like I'm doomed to food service until I can pay off my debt and get back into school (I owe my community college $4000 and they've locked my transcript and won't let me register for classes until I pay it off).
