How can i find an employer who wont exploit me?

Ive had many employers who put me in situations where i don’t have adequate training or support. (But i am hardworking and i always do a good job, get promoted, and I’ve never been fired)

It just happened again. Im working a temp admin job. The other office temp finished her term, so the manager decided that since im hardworking, I could just do her job and mine. I almost said no, but she promised she would help me manage the workload. Then she left on vacation for a month, without giving me much training. Work is so stressful, im starting to get anxiety attacks.

Ive had so many situations like this in my lifetime. What am i doing wrong? I guess i should have said no to helping her out in this role, and not trusted she would help me. And maybe i can find a way of setting better boundaries?

How do i find a job that wont take advantage of me like this? Is there an industry that isn’t as bad? What should i ask in the interview to screen for this?

(Ive had managers who bullied me, managers blame other peoples mistakes on me, managers who didn’t like my personality and made it known around the office, managers who accused me of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with colleagues (even though I’m gay), employers ask me to work unpaid overtime, employers give me more work than i have time for, employers ask me to do inappropriate tasks like clearing a mouse trap)

What the hell. I am sick of it. What can i do to screen them better?
