After some follow up with a recruiting manager at a career fair, I was put in contact with a Senior Financial Analyst at the company. I have a 30 min phone call scheduled so I can get a better idea of what he does. I am working through some general questions regarding his current position. I also looked through his LinkedIn and got a good idea of how he has advanced throughout his time at the company. What I am unsure about is if I should ask "I noticed that you were an economics major, then you began working in auditing, was that a difficult transition?". I don't want it to come off as "I stalked your LinkedIn".
Any help regarding this would be helpful as this is my first informational interview of sorts. Also, I'm open to any other suggestions.
If it helps I'm a junior studying finance and looking for internships and eventually jobs in financial analysis.
