A contact said they would e-mail me about a freelance gig and then never did. To follow up or not to follow up?

Last week, an acquaintance messaged me via social media basically saying, "Hey I know you work in [this field], I also work in [this field] and need some support on some big projects this winter, are you available for a freelance position?" I responded pretty quickly that yes I am available for freelancing, and she said "Great, I'll email you tonight/tomorrow with the details". That was a few days ago and I haven't received anything. Should I send a message following up? Or is that too thirsty/desperate?
